Hello..my name is John Miller and I spoke to you earlier this week regarding the appropriate size pinfish trap for my needs. I purchased your new 1817EWH Model with the two trap compartments. I received the trap yesterday and set it out today around 1:00 pm. I used about a half dozen cut sardines and a couple of old squid pieces for bait. I checked the trap tonight around 6:30. All I can say is WOW!!!!
Pinfish have been very hard to come by in our area because of the cold water (55 degrees) and almost everyone I know is whining about no live bait for deep offshore grouper fishing. In the last several weeks I have spent many many hours sabiking up bait nearshore for not much return. I tried your trap in my new SECRET spot :) (right next to my moored boat in about 4' of water on a mud bottom) and the result was between 100-200 lively pins!!! Just think what it might do on good bottom!!..and I would estimate that 3/4s of them were in the second compartment...just as you said.
Now the truth is I don't know if it's your great trap design or just plain luck, or my secret spot....but nevertheless I"M HAPPY.
On a less emotional note, I really liked the design when it arrived. It was well built and cleverly designed. Once you see it, you kind of say "of course!!"..that's the way it should be...double coverage!!

Just wanted to let you know that I was not very excited about the 1122 trap that I purchased, looking at it and comparing it to the one that I had made, I thought that my trap would out catch it. After one wk. in Marathon,using both your trap and mine, placing them side by side, I am a believer, your trap out catches mine 5 to 1. Thanks for talking me into keeping it and I will let everyone that asks know what a great trap it is.
